Jessica Amanda Salmonson lives in Seattle, Washington. She has published five fantasy novels and numerous short stories and poems. Her most recent novel, Anthony Shriek, is her first horror novel. I drink thee with my lips, my eyes,
Dreaming till forever dies
’Midst the roots of trees.
Alice without malice
Living in a palace
Full of cosmic fallacies, tries
To be all pleasantries.
Alice out of balance
I catch thee with my arms, my knees
Through the looking glass are we,
The ghost of you, the ghost of me,
Reenacting tragedies.
Alice, never callous,
Naytheless destroys the seas,
Dreaming till forever dies
Beneath the golden skies.
