The Sports Captain's Tale

For Emily, the heroine of the Schooled in Magic series, sports were something to be endured, not enjoyed. She had no interest in playing games, no matter how magical, and only took the field reluctantly, when it could not be avoided. In this, she was aided and abetted by the previous Grandmaster, who felt that sports should take a backseat to preparing for war with the necromancers. This attitude, however, is uncommon at Whitehall School, with many students taking advantage of the new Grandmaster’s policy of rejoining the sports leagues and fielding as many sporting teams as possible.

Kai is one such student. This is his story.

I wrote this novella to be as stand-alone as possible, but it takes place at roughly the same time as Little Witches (Schooled in Magic 21) and is a semi-direct sequel to The Muckraker’s Tale, published in Fantastic Schools VI. You do not need to have read either to follow this story.
